Safety and Security Training for Transportation Personnel

School bus drivers are the first and last school employees to see our children on a daily basis. Ultimately children in school buses with their bus drivers are an extension of the school in which they belong. In any given day a bus driver with our students could encounter:
·         Escalating emotions and/or intimidating behavior from students or a parent
·         Acts or threats of violence / weapon on bus
·         Vehicular accident or a medical emergency
·         Trespasser aboard the bus
Many bus drivers receive inadequate training on how to manage safety issues on the bus to protect students from threats both inside and outside the bus. Our school bus drivers must be aware and prepared so they can take part in creating safe environments for our children.
